Tammy McComb, M.S.Ed
A love of learning has been a part of my life since childhood. That love was extended to teaching when I was trained by the Institute of Reading Development in 2001 where I taught Reading Enrichment and Study Skills courses to students aged Pre-K through adult. I moved to Portugal in 2007 to teach at an International Christian School where I developed extensive experience with English Language Learners and became fluent in the Portuguese language.
After moving back to New Jersey in 2015, I began teaching at Lighthouse Christian Academy in Manahawkin. I completed my New Jersey State K-6 Teaching Certification along with obtaining a Master of Science in Education.
During my Master's studies, I studied Applied Behavior Analysis and also researched, wrote, and taught my thesis entitled Addressing Student Anxiety. In the future, I hope to continue pursuing the study of how teachers can address their students' mental health challenges through their relationship in the classroom.

Having been a foreign language-learner myself, I understand the difficulties and frustrations of trying to express yourself in a different culture! I offer understanding and support, along with growth for these students.
